Black River Outdoors Center offers Eddyline, Dagger, Mad River, and Perception canoes and kayaks as well as Yakima rack systems and a complete inventory of paddling accessories. Center naturalists guide kayak eco-tours in a variety of environments in the slow moving waters of the Tidelands of South Carolina. First-timers will have no troubl – but children under age 13 will ride in a tandem kayak with parents. All necessary equipment is provided on tours.

Charleston County Park & Recreation

Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) offers a variety of very affordable paddling tours for people of all abilities. Options include exploring Charleston harbor, lazy tidal rivers and creeks, wildlife rich salt marshes, quiet blackwater rivers, and the dynamic surf zone and open ocean. Paddlers can choose tours that utilize sea kayaks, canoes, sit-on-tops, or stand-up paddleboards (SUP). CCPRC employees certified American Canoe Association (ACA) instructors to teach coastal and whitewater kayaking, canoeing, and surf kayaking. These ACA instructional classes provide a solid foundation for each step you take into the wonderful world of paddling. CCPRC will also be offering an exciting new program of stand-up paddleboard (SUP) lessons starting in Spring 2010.
